JOB SUMMARY:Company Profile:
National Research Centre for Banana was established on 21st August 1993 at Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu by ICAR, New Delhi with an aim to increase the production and productivity of banana and plantains through mission mode basic and strategic research approaches.
The Centre works on four major thrust areas of research viz., Crop Improvement, Crop Production, Post Harvest Management and Crop Protection. It has well-equipped laboratories for tissue-culture, bio-technology, soil science, nutrient management, physiology, biochemistry, entomology, nematology, fungal, bacterial, viral pathology and post harvest technology research.
Job Description:
Interview for the selection of Research Associate (one post) on contractual basis under the DBT project entitled “Development of bio-pesticide formulation for reducing post harvest losses and for achieving export quality and increased shelf – life of banana fruits” is scheduled to be held on 05.03.2014 (Wednesday) at 11.00 AM. The post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. Eligible candidates may attend the Walk-in Interview at the above address.

Duration of the Project : Three years.

Fellowship : Rs.22,000.00 + HRA @20% per month (as per DBT guidelines)
Essential Qualification : First class in M.Sc. or M.Phil or Ph.D. in Agricultural Microbiology / Plant Pathology or General Microbiology or Biotechnology with specialization in Microbiology / Plant Pathology.
Desirable : Experience in Biotechnological works and computer skills
General Terms and conditions:
Age limit: Not more than 35 years for men and 40 years for women.
The above position is purely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project. There is no provision for re-employment after termination of project. The selected candidate will not have any right for claiming pay scale or absorption against any regular post being vacant on a later date at this institute.
No TA / DA will be paid for attending the interview.
Candidates attending the Walk-in-Interview should neatly type the application in the format prescribed in MS-WORD – TIMES NEW ROMAN FONT – 12 SIZE and submit the same along with attested copies of educational qualifications, experience and publications etc. at the time of attending the Walk-in-Interview. Original certificates should also be brought for verification at the time of Walk-in-Interview. Candidates already working should produce “No Objection Certificate” in case he / she is employed elsewhere.
