We have an excellent opening for Manager Marketing & Commercial Doha Qatar with a leading oil and gas company.
Purpose of the Job
To provide commercial and marketing support ( including the development of a marketing strategy) to the executive director Downstream, to ensure that the commercial analysis of any investment opportunity, project or operation is undertaken at each key stage and that the market for the BU production is fully understood and adequately modelled to grow companys Downstream BU investment portfolio.

Strategic Contribution
Contribute and provide inputs to the development of the Commercial & Marketing strategy in line with the overall business objectives of the downstream function.
Management
Manage the effective achievement of objectives through setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal in order to maximise subordinate and the overall performance.
Organisation Structure
Recommend an optimum organisation structure in coordination with Organizational Effectiveness and Strategic Manpower Planning for the department so that resources are optimally utilised and communication can take place in an efficient manner.
Budgets and Plans
Prepare and recommend the budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, and areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalised upon.
Commercial & Marketing
Establish commercial/marketing assessment framework and criteria for evaluating potential downstream investment opportunities/projects and provide support for commercial risk identification and mitigation assessment
Lead and develop global marketing strategy and marketing plan for company's share of production from the planned international JV investments
Lead, negotiate and finalize long term feedstock supply arrangements for downstream projects
Lead to finalize product marketing agreements with JV partners
Conduct market, competitor and customer analysis as input to strategy development and evaluation of potential downstream projects and partners
Conduct commercial and economic due diligence on new investment opportunities. Provide economic modelling support during analysis of potential investments or acquisitions
Collaborate with legal and finance to support Business Unit in preparing and negotiating JV related commercial agreements to satisfy the requirements of the project and safeguard interests
Collaborate with other stakeholders to evaluate potential downstream projects at key stages of each project (e.g. feasibility, FEED and EPIC investment decision)
Participate in the team set up to undertake initial screening of potential downstream investment opportunities
Evaluate, define and secure optimum market and prices for companys products including analysis product and feedstock market assessments and pricing analysis, development of pricing forecasts and options
Development and maintenance of product demand database, traders, buyers, quality specifications and volumes.
Liaise with other shareholders to review and endorse strategy and governance framework, and represent company in Excom with partners to safeguard interests
Monitor the commercial/ marketing aspects of JV owned operational business to support companys nominee board members and corporate representatives.
Advise to increase companys growth potential and returns from existing investments in JV ventures
Develop, agree and manage the commercial component of the transition process for change of ownership for acquisitions.
Continuous Improvement
Stimulate subordinates and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account international leading practice, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
Develop and recommend enhancements to policy and procedures related to XXX and implement procedures and controls covering all areas of XXX activity to ensure adherence and effective implementation.
Quality, Health, Safety, & Environment
Ensure compliance to all relevant quality, health, safety and environmental management procedures and controls to guarantee employee safety, compliance, delivery of high quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
MIS and Reports
Supervise the preparation of timely and accurate departmental MIS statements and reports to meet companys and department requirements, policies and standards.

Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Economics or Business.
Desirable:
MBA or a Master Degree in Economics is preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 15 years of experience with major energy company with product trading and marketing.
Experience in modelling of projects of a similar nature to the planned our portfolio.
Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:
Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Economics or Business.
Desirable:
MBA or a Master Degree in Economics is preferred.
