Electrical Engineer
Experience: 10 to 20 yrs.

Minimum of Ten (10) years electrical engineering or any equivalent combination of
experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities
have been achieved.
Education:

Nature of Work:
Perform calculations to establish manufacturing, construction, and installation
standards and specifications.
Collect data relating to commercial and residential development, and power systems
to determine operating efficiency of electrical systems.
Plan and implement research methodology and procedures to apply electrical theory
to engineering projects.
Maintain, and improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, and systems for
commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
Design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
Coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support,
documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, and
customer requirements.
Prepare technical drawings, specifications of electrical systems, and topographical
maps to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer
requirements.
Plan layout of electric power generating plants and stations.
Assist in developing project programs for new equipment and major repairs.
Budget, estimate material and construction costs.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of engineering principles and procedures.
Ability to think methodically, to design, plan and manage projects
Skill in applying engineering principles and procedures.
Skill in engineering design applications.
Negotiating, supervisory and leadership skills combined with the ability to delegate.
Skill in both verbal and written communication.
Nature of Work:
Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, and other
topographical or geologic data to plan projects.
Plan and design transportation or hydraulic systems and structures, following
construction and government standards, using design software and drawing tools.
Compute load and grade requirements, water flow rates, and material stress factors
to determine design specifications.
Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design
specifications and safety or sanitation standards.
Direct construction, operations, and maintenance activities at project site.
Direct or participate in surveying to lay out installations and establish reference
points, grades, and elevations to guide construction.
Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project
feasibility.
Prepare or present public reports, such as bid proposals, deeds, environmental
impact statements, and property and right-of-way descriptions.
Test soils and materials to determine the adequacy and strength of foundations,
concrete, asphalt, or steel.
Provide technical advice regarding design, construction, or program modifications
and structural repairs to industrial and managerial personnel.
